Antigua and Barbuda 1981 Antigua and Barbuda 2 e. desire to establish a framework of supreme law within which to guarantee their inalienable human rights and freedoms, among them, the rights to liberty, property, security and legal redress of grievances, as well as freedom of speech, of the press and of assembly, subject only to the public interest: Now, Therefore, the following provisions shall have effect as the Constitution of Antigua and Barbuda:- Chapter I - The State and the Constitution The State and its Territory. 1.- 1. Antigua and Barbuda shall be a unitary sovereign democratic State. 2. The territory of Antigua and Barbuda shall comprise the islands of Antigua, Barbuda and Redonda and all other areas that were comprised in Antigua on 31st October 1981 together with such other areas as may be declared by Act of Parliament to form part of the territory of Antigua and Barbuda.
